Previously known as the Poop Deck, Captain James Hunter opened the Ashford Arms Irish Pub in 1990. For 20 years this family of friends and loyal locals built a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Due to zoning issues, the Hunter's closed the doors of the original Ashford Arms Pub in 2010; giving the blessing of the name to the Whatley's who relocated and reopened the doors in 2011, to continue hosting an abode for old and new friends. The Ashford Pub is the premier Irish pub on Houston's west side. Located in the heart of the Houston's "Energy Corridor", the pub has become like a home away from home for many of the expats that are employed by the energy companies in the area. The
Ashford Pub is also quite popular with the local crowd, young and old alike; serving a plethora of craft beer, local and abroad, as well as a vast variety of spirits too. There are 35 tap handles that rotate regularly, ensuring the best quality of each beer and we always look forward to increasing these statistics. Happy Hour is a convenient 8 hour stretch from 11am-7pm and there are specific drink specials even on top of happy hour, that last from open to close. Upon proof of industry employment, service industry workers receive happy hour prices from open to close as well.
There are televisions in almost every corner of the pub so if you need a place to watch your favorite teams, come down and join us. Additionally, if there is a soccer match that you are interested in watching, the staff will be more than happy to see what they can do for you. The Ashford Pub holds the NFL sunday ticket as well as the MLB package and many other sports channels too. While you're here, join in on a game of poker, darts, shuffleboard or pool. There is live music, DJ's and karaoke on the weekends.
There are many annual events to take part in throughout the year such as toy/food/charity drives for those in need, cook-offs, crawfish boils, beer dinners, holiday parties, etc. Let's just say The Ashford Pub doesn't take St. Patrick's Day lightly!
